I'm in love with my NEDA internship.
I really look forward to coming to work everyday.
Lately, I've been spending a lot of time in the Helpline taking calls from people asking for help with eating disorders, either for themselves or a loved one.
The calls are always so unique and interesting, and usually pretty intense.
I'm obviously not a professional but we go through pretty extensive training so drawing on that information, and personal experiences, I really am able to help people when they call.
It really is amazing how much we are able to make a difference just through a phone call.
Besides the Helpline, I do a bunch of other projects for awareness and activism.
I recently just got put in charge of a big advertising campaign.
(It's kind of a big deal.)
A big advertising company created a bunch of ads for NEDA and I'm working on getting them placed in various magazines.
It's really exciting that me, a little intern, is in charge of it.
Hopefully I'll do a good job!
I think the ads are pretty neat and really effective and I really like them.
Here they are!

Pretty much any magazine geared towards mothers would be an excellent way to start. Also home chefs I think would be an interesting demographic. Also buses and taxis.
One last one that will come across as a joke but I swear I actually mean this as a helpful idea - bathroom stall doors. I am always looking for something to read when I am in there, why not make it something that is helpful, interesting and pertinent to the situation at hand?
Good job Ally! The ads are awesome! My first thought to put an ad is in Seventeen Mag.
those are so witty.
Those ads are great. They need to be put everywhere!
